Porsche is introducing the latest generation of its mid-engine roadsters with more power, the new 718 Boxster and 718 Boxster S pay homage to mid-engine Porsche 718 which won numerous races in the late 1950s and early 1960s.
The new tourbocharged flat-four engine on the new 718 Boxster generates 300 horsepower and 350 hp for the 2.5 litre S variant, peak torque of 280 lb-ft and 309lb-ft respectively are available from 1,960rpm. The Boxster S model can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph under 4 seconds, all the way to the top speed of 177 mph.
Completely retuned sportier suspension and uprated brakes lay the foundation for exceptional performance and driving pleasure, and 718 owners can order the advanced Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) as an optional package, giving the car more driving modes for long-road tips and spirited driving.
